On Sunday, the 1st of December Steam reached a momentous milestone. Over 7 million of its 65 million members were all logged in at the same time. This is the highest number of concurrent users Steam has ever had. It is an increase from its previous highest of 6.5 million, which it experienced in October.
The exact number of 7,190,547 users comes direct from Valves own Steam Statistics page. This rise in active users can be credited to the growing popularity of PC gaming and Steams own Annual Autumn Sale.
With its continued low prices and Valves push for the Steam Box, it is a safe bet that the number of steam users will be even higher in the future.
